About Lupe

Landscape design is my chosen profession after an initial career as a project manager in the tech industry. Success for me is delivering a design that makes my clients glad to have worked with Alegre Landscape Design!

As a member of the California Native Plant Society, I was invited to present a talk at the CNPS 2022 Conference, on the benefits of using natives in the urban landscape. I am always growing my knowledge of drought tolerant plants, natives, and design principles, to stay current with the innovation that is ever present in this industry, and to give my clients the benefits of my ever-growing expertise.

One of my passions is sharing information about plants, water-wise gardening, native plants, and eco-friendly landscaping practices. To this end, I seek public speaking opportunities to share my enthusiasm and knowledge. One of these fun talks was at one of the gardens on the annual Bringing Back the Natives Garden Tour. Especially exciting about this talk was that the garden being featured belongs to the person who was my first client, as we continue to collaborate on projects together.

Awards

A professional coup for me, and a huge honor, was being invited to co-create an exhibit at the world-renowned San Francisco Flower and Garden Show, in 2012.

Our finished exhibit received three awards for our creation of a garden using repurposed materials (such as old lockers from Los Gatos high school to create a tiered fountain, car tires to create a pond, and old farm equipment to create a small gazebo).
